Crockpot Apple Cider Pulled Pork (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 3-4 lbs pork shoulder or butt

→ Marinade & Sauce

02 - 1 cup apple cider
03 - 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
04 - 1/2 cup brown sugar

→ Spice Rub

05 - 1 tablespoon paprika
06 - 1 tablespoon garlic powder
07 - 1 teaspoon cinnamon
08 - 1 teaspoon salt
09 - 1/2 teaspoon pepper
10 - 1/4 teaspoon cloves
11 - 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

# Instructions:

01 - Thoroughly rub the pork shoulder with paprika, garlic powder, cinnamon, salt, pepper, cloves, and nutmeg, ensuring even coverage.
02 - Place the seasoned pork in the slow cooker and pour apple cider, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar over the meat.
03 - Cook on low heat for 8-10 hours or on high heat for 4-5 hours, until the pork is fork-tender and easily shreds.
04 - Remove the pork from the slow cooker, shred thoroughly using two forks, then return to the cooking liquid and mix well to incorporate flavors.
05 - Serve the pulled pork on buns with coleslaw or your preferred toppings.

01 - For a more concentrated flavor, reduce some of the cooking liquid in a saucepan before mixing it back with the shredded pork.
