Chili Garlic Lime Shrimp (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
02 - 1 tablespoon lime juice (from 1 lime), plus more for serving
03 - 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
04 - 2 teaspoons packed brown sugar
05 - 2 teaspoons chili powder
06 - 1 teaspoon paprika
07 - 1 teaspoon salt
08 - ½ teaspoon black pepper
09 - 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
10 - 2 tablespoons salted butter
11 - Fresh cilantro, finely chopped (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - In a large bowl, whisk together olive oil, lime juice, garlic, brown sugar, chili powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper until well combined. Add shrimp and toss until coated. Marinate for 10-15 minutes, but no longer than 30 minutes.
02 - Heat 2 tablespoons of salted butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once melted, add the shrimp in a single layer.
03 - Cook for 2-3 minutes, flip, and continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp are no longer translucent and their tails begin to curl. Remove from skillet and serve immediately.
04 - Sprinkle with fresh cilantro and serve with additional lime wedges, if desired.

# Notes:

01 - Fresh Gulf shrimp are ideal. If using frozen, thaw completely and pat dry to help the marinade stick and prevent excess moisture.
02 - Marinate shrimp for 10 to 30 minutes; longer marination can negatively impact the texture due to the lime juice.
03 - Avoid overcrowding the skillet to achieve a proper sear and even cooking.
