Rinse and drain masoor dal and soak in water overnight or at least 4 hours.

Drain soaked lentils and add to blender with green chili, ginger, salt, and water. Blend into a fine, pourable batter. Stir in cilantro and let rest for five minutes.

Preheat pan to low-medium heat. Pour 1/3 cup batter and spread into a 5-6 inch pancake. Cook for 2-3 minutes, add oil drops, then flip. Cook another 2-3 minutes until lightly browned.
