Set the oven to 175°C and allow to completely preheat.

In a bowl, gently toss sliced peaches with 50 g sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Let the mixture marinate for 10 minutes.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining 100 g sugar.

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and almond extract if using.

Pour wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir just until combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are acceptable.

Evenly spread the batter in a greased 33x23 cm baking dish.

Spoon marinated peaches and their juices evenly over the batter without stirring.

Place dish in preheated oven. Bake for 35–40 minutes until the surface is golden brown and bubbly and a toothpick inserted into the batter comes out clean.
