Ground Turkey Curry (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - ½ white onion, finely chopped
02 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
03 - 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
04 - 1 pound (454g) 90/10 ground turkey
05 - 1 ¼ cups full-fat coconut milk
06 - 1 ½ teaspoons curry powder
07 - 1 teaspoon garam masala
08 - ¼ teaspoon cumin
09 - ⅛ teaspoon turmeric
10 - ⅛ teaspoon cayenne, plus more to taste
11 - 1 teaspoon salt, plus more to taste
12 - ½ teaspoon black pepper
13 - Cooked basmati rice, for serving
14 - Finely chopped cilantro, for serving (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add finely chopped onion and cook for 3-4 minutes, until translucent.
02 - Add minced garlic and ground turkey to the skillet. Cook for 7-8 minutes over medium heat, breaking meat into crumbles, until fully cooked with no pink remaining.
03 - In a small bowl, whisk together curry powder, garam masala, cumin, turmeric, cayenne pepper, salt and black pepper. Add this spice mixture and coconut milk to the pan, stirring until well combined.
04 - Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes to allow flavors to develop and sauce to thicken slightly.
05 - Ladle turkey curry over prepared basmati rice and garnish with fresh cilantro if desired.
