Homemade Peppermint Patties (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Filling

01 - Sweetened condensed milk, 14 oz can
02 - Peppermint extract, 1¼ teaspoons (or to taste)
03 - Vanilla extract, ⅛ teaspoon
04 - Powdered sugar, 4¾ cups plus extra for rolling

→ Coating

05 - Dark chocolate candy melts (like Ghirardelli), 3 cups
06 - Holiday sprinkles, ½ cup

# Instructions:

01 - In a mixer bowl, combine condensed milk, peppermint extract, and vanilla extract. Add half the powdered sugar and beat on low speed.
02 - Gradually beat in remaining powdered sugar until a smooth dough forms. It should be firm enough to roll into balls. Adjust consistency with extra powdered sugar or water if needed.
03 - Dust parchment paper with powdered sugar, place dough on top, and sprinkle more sugar over it. Roll to ½ inch thickness.
04 - Using a greased 1 or 1½ inch round cookie cutter, cut circles from the dough. If dough is too soft, freeze briefly to firm up.
05 - Place the peppermint rounds on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover and freeze for 20 minutes.
06 - Melt chocolate candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second intervals and stirring between each.
07 - Using a fork, dip each frozen patty in melted chocolate. Place on parchment and immediately add sprinkles. Let set before serving.

# Notes:
