Sweet and Savory Garlic Cheese Buns (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For the Base

01 - King's Hawaiian Original Sweet Rolls (16), dried at room temperature for 2 hours

→ For Cream Cheese Filling

02 - Cream cheese, room temperature (8 oz/226g)
03 - Sweetened condensed milk (2-3 tablespoons)
04 - Pinch of salt

→ For Garlic Butter Custard

05 - Melted butter (½ cup/113g)
06 - Egg (1)
07 - Milk (¼ cup)
08 - Sweetened condensed milk (2 tablespoons)
09 - Chopped or minced garlic (2-3 tablespoons)
10 - Salt (½ teaspoon)
11 - Fresh parsley, chopped (2 tablespoons)
12 - Paprika (½ teaspoon)

→ For Topping

13 - Grated parmesan cheese (2 tablespoons)

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut rolls into 8 sections (75% down) while keeping base intact.
02 - Mix cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, and salt until combined. Transfer to piping bag and fill roll sections.
03 - Combine melted butter, egg, milk, sweetened condensed milk, garlic, salt, parsley, and paprika in a bowl.
04 - Dip each filled roll in garlic butter mixture for 1-2 seconds per side. Place on baking sheet and brush with remaining garlic. Sprinkle with parmesan.
05 - Bake for about 15 minutes until golden. Serve warm.

01 - Can substitute brioche slider buns for Hawaiian rolls
02 - Best served warm
03 - Drying rolls helps them absorb more flavor
