Easy Pizza Style Panini (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - Hearty bread slices (4 thick) or ciabatta loaf (12-14 ounces)
02 - Pizza or marinara sauce (½ cup)
03 - Fresh mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced (4 ounces)
04 - Pepperoni slices (3-4 ounces)
05 - Olive oil spray

→ Optional Garlic Butter

06 - Unsalted butter (2 teaspoons)
07 - Dried oregano (1 teaspoon)
08 - Red pepper flakes (½ teaspoon)
09 - Garlic powder (1 teaspoon)
10 - Grated Parmesan cheese (¼ cup)

# Instructions:

01 - Heat panini press, George Foreman grill, or grill pan over medium heat.
02 - Cut bread into thick slices or hollow ciabatta slightly. Spread pizza sauce evenly on cut sides.
03 - Layer bottom half with mozzarella slices and pepperoni. Add top bread piece and spray outside with olive oil.
04 - Cook sandwich 3-4 minutes per side until bread is toasted and cheese melts. If using grill pan, weight sandwich with heavy skillet.
05 - Let cool 1-2 minutes before cutting and serving.
