Sausage Tortellini Soup (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - Italian sausage - 1 pound.
02 - Yellow onion, diced - 1 small.
03 - Garlic cloves, minced - 3.
04 - All-purpose flour - 3 tablespoons.
05 - Dried basil - 1 teaspoon.
06 - Oregano - 1/2 teaspoon.
07 - Cayenne - 1 pinch.
08 - Hot sauce - 1 teaspoon.
09 - Mustard powder - 1/2 teaspoon.
10 - Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon.
11 - Red pepper flakes - 1 pinch.
12 - Heavy cream - 1 cup.
13 - Chicken broth - 5 cups.
14 - Kale, chopped - 2 cups.
15 - Cheese tortellini - 10 ounces.

# Instructions:

01 - Brown sausage and onions over medium-high heat for 8-10 minutes. Drain grease. Add garlic, cook 1 minute.
02 - Stir in flour and cook 1-2 minutes to remove raw taste.
03 - Add all seasonings and spices, stir to combine.
04 - Pour in broth, scraping bottom of pot. Slowly stir in cream. Bring to boil, reduce to simmer.
05 - Add kale and tortellini. Simmer 3-5 minutes until pasta is cooked. Season with salt to taste.

# Notes:

01 - Can be made in slow cooker.
02 - Spinach can replace kale.
03 - Add parmesan rind for extra flavor.
