Sugar Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - All-purpose flour (2 1/2 cups/318 grams).
02 - Baking powder (2 teaspoons).
03 - Fine sea salt (3/4 teaspoon).
04 - Unsalted butter, cool room temperature (2 sticks/226 grams).
05 - Granulated sugar (1 1/4 cups/250 grams, plus 1/4 cup/50 grams for rolling).
06 - Large egg (1).
07 - Egg yolk (1).
08 - Vanilla extract (1 teaspoon).

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
02 - Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in medium bowl.
03 - Beat butter and 1 1/4 cups sugar with electric mixer until light and fluffy, 2-3 minutes.
04 - Beat in egg, egg yolk, and vanilla until combined. Slowly mix in flour mixture.
05 - Scoop 3-tablespoon dough balls, roll in remaining sugar. Place on sheets and flatten slightly.
06 - Bake 10-12 minutes until set and lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes on sheets before moving to rack.
