Strawberries and Cream Oatmeal (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 200g old-fashioned oats
02 - 600ml milk
03 - 240ml water
04 - 4 tablespoons sweetener (e.g., 2 tablespoons coconut sugar, 2 tablespoons maple syrup)
05 - Pinch of salt
06 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
07 - 675g strawberries

→ Optional Ingredients

08 - 1-2 tablespoons heavy cream or 1 tablespoon coconut oil
09 - 1/4 cup freeze-dried strawberries (for garnish)

# Instructions:

01 - Add oats, milk, water, sweetener, salt, and vanilla to a medium/large heavy-bottomed pot. Bring to a boil, then cook for 10 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning, until oats are soft and most of the liquid is absorbed.
02 - While the oatmeal is cooking, wash, dry, and remove the tops of the strawberries. Blend 1/3 of the strawberries into a puree, cut 1/3 into chunks, and slice the remaining 1/3 for topping.
03 - When the oatmeal is done, add the heavy cream or coconut oil (if using), strawberry puree, and chopped strawberries. Stir to combine. Do not bring back to boil to preserve freshness unless planning to serve the next day.
04 - Pour the oatmeal into bowls and top with the remaining sliced strawberries. Serve and enjoy.

# Notes:

01 - To make the oatmeal naturally sweeter, mash and add 2-3 medium bananas.
