School Cafeteria Classic Pizza (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Dough

01 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
03 - 1 tsp sugar
04 - 1 tsp salt
05 - 3/4 cup warm water (about 110°F)
06 - 1 tbsp olive oil

→ Toppings

07 - 1 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
08 - 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
09 - Italian seasoning or dried oregano (optional)
10 - Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar in warm water, then sprinkle the yeast on top. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, until frothy.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Once the yeast mixture is ready, add it along with the olive oil to the flour mix.
03 - Mix until a dough begins to form, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
04 - Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
05 - Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C). Punch down the risen dough and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer to a greased pizza pan or baking sheet.
06 - Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly on top.
07 - Sprinkle some Italian seasoning or dried oregano on top for extra flavor if desired.
08 - Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
09 - Once baked, remove from oven and let cool for a couple of minutes. Optionally top with fresh basil leaves before slicing into squares or wedges.
