Creamy Homemade Ice Cream (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 2 cups heavy cream
02 - 1 cup whole milk
03 - 3/4 cup granulated sugar
04 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
05 - 1/2 teaspoon salt

→ Optional Mix-ins

06 - 1 cup of choice: chocolate chips, crushed cookies, fresh fruit, or nuts

# Instructions:

01 - In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth and creamy.
02 - Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours, or until the mixture is thoroughly chilled.
03 - Pour the chilled mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions. This typically takes about 20-25 minutes, until the ice cream thickens to a soft-serve consistency.
04 - If using, fold in your choice of mix-ins (chocolate chips, crushed cookies, fruit, or nuts) during the last 5 minutes of churning.
05 - Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and smooth the top with a spatula. Press a piece of parchment paper directly onto the surface to prevent ice crystals from forming. Cover with the lid and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.

# Notes:

01 - Ensuring the base is properly chilled before churning will result in a creamier texture.
