Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix cream cheese and powdered sugar with paddle attachment for 1-2 minutes until smooth. Refrigerate while preparing dough.

Mix butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar for 2 minutes. Add egg, egg yolk, vanilla, baking soda, and salt, mixing for 1 minute.

Turn mixer to low and add flour until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.

Flatten 2-tablespoon portions of dough, add 2 teaspoons cold cream cheese mixture in center, and wrap dough around filling.

Place cookies 2 inches apart and bake for 9 minutes until edges are golden and tops are set.
