Slow Cooked BBQ Beef Ribs (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main

01 - 6 beef short ribs (300-350g/10-12oz each), patted dry

→ Rub

02 - 1 tbsp brown sugar
03 - 2 tsp paprika
04 - 1 tsp garlic powder
05 - 1 tsp onion powder
06 - 1/2 tsp cumin powder
07 - 3/4 tsp mustard powder
08 - 1 tsp salt
09 - 1/2 tsp black pepper

→ Barbecue Sauce

10 - 2 garlic cloves, minced
11 - 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
12 - 1 1/2 cups ketchup
13 - 1/2 cup brown sugar, loosely packed
14 - 2 tsp black pepper
15 - 2 tsp onion powder
16 - 2 tsp mustard powder
17 - 1 tsp cayenne pepper
18 - 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
19 - 2 cups water

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 160°C/320°F.
02 - Mix Rub ingredients in bowl. Press beef ribs into rub, coating all sides.
03 - Mix Barbecue Sauce ingredients except water in baking pan, then stir in water.
04 - Place ribs in sauce meat side down. Cover tightly with foil.
05 - Bake covered for 3 1/2 hours.
06 - Remove foil, turn ribs, and bake uncovered 30 minutes more, basting halfway through until caramelized.

01 - Can be made ahead and reheated
02 - Freezes perfectly for up to 3 months
03 - Can be finished on the grill for extra smokiness
04 - Meat should fall off the bone when done
